Double Wins at the Whistler Excellence Awards!

Ziptrek Ecotours Whistler is proud to share that we’ve been recognized with not one, but two major honours at the 2025 Whistler Excellence Awards — taking home Service Excellence – Large Business, and celebrating our very own CFO, Nadia Demers, who was named Business Person of the Year.

Hosted annually by the Whistler Chamber of Commerce, the Excellence Awards shine a spotlight on the incredible businesses and individuals that make our mountain town thrive. To be recognized among so many inspiring local leaders is something we’ll remember for a long time.

Celebrating Service Excellence

At the heart of Ziptrek is a team that loves what they do — creating unforgettable adventures while sharing Whistler’s natural beauty and stories of sustainability.

Winning the Service Excellence – Large Business award is a reflection of that passion and dedication. 

From the guides who bring contagious energy to every tour, to the behind-the-scenes crew who make each detail seamless, every member of our team plays a role in creating the kind of guest experience that leaves a lasting impression.

“This award is a reflection of our collective effort,” said Byron Chittick, Operations Manager of Ziptrek Ecotours. “We're not just guiding tours, we're really trying to create memories and connections for our guests. We are trying to inspire our guests through our ecology story and sustainability practices, and really hoping that people take away some wonder, adventure, and basic care for this amazing community and town, Whistler, that we live in.”

Honouring Leadership and Vision

Alongside the Service Excellence award, the celebration grew even bigger when Nadia Demers, Ziptrek’s Chief Financial Officer, was named Business Person of the Year.

Known for her sharp business acumen, calm leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Whistler community, Nadia has played a key role in guiding Ziptrek’s continued growth and resilience. Their recognition highlights the strength of values-driven leadership and the impact one person can have in shaping a company’s culture and success.

“This community has given so much to me that giving back has been such an important part of my life,” said Demers. “This award isn't about me, it is about the business owners, the leaders, the managers, and the front line staff who tirelessly contribute to our success and to our community.”

Demers also mentioned and thanked Tourism Whistler, WORTH association, Whistler Minor Hockey, and Whistler Gymnastics, with whom she has board involvement.
