Tucked into the Coast Mountains on the traditional, unceded territories of the Lil̓wat and Squamish Nations, Whistler is shaped by a lush coastal temperate rainforest, making it truly one of a kind.
Best known as a world-class ski destination, Whistler is located just north of Vancouver and Squamish, but locals know that summer in Whistler is just as unforgettable. As the snow melts, skis are swapped for bikes, hiking boots, and adventure gear, opening up endless ways to explore.
From treetop adventures to lakeside hangs and alpine views, summer activities in Whistler are everywhere and are right at your fingertips. Consider this your local guide to the best things to do in Whistler this summer.
If heights aren’t your thing… this might change your mind. Grab a sightseeing ticket and ride Whistler Blackcomb’s gondolas and chairlifts up into the alpine.
At around 1,850 meters above sea level, you’ll find scenic mountain lodges on both Whistler and Blackcomb, which are perfect for a bite to eat, a cold drink, or just soaking in those unreal views. This is also where you’ll find the famous Peak 2 Peak Gondola, stretching 4.4 km between the two mountains.
Go even higher to about 2,200 meters and step onto the Cloudraker Skybridge. This 130-metre suspension bridge connects Whistler Peak to the West Ridge and delivers some seriously stomach-flipping views (in the best way).

Whistler is home to five main valley lakes, plus a few secret spots tucked away in neighbourhoods and the alpine, shhhhhh.
Each lake has its own vibe, with crystal water perfect for paddleboarding, canoeing, swimming, or floating down the famous River of Golden Dreams. If you’re feeling more land-based, grab an e-bike and cruise the easy Valley Trail that connects you to all the main lakes.
Find your favourite spot, settle in, and enjoy a full-on Whistler summer day by the water.
A local favourite is Arts Whistler’s Art on the Lake, returning July 9–10 at Lost Lake Park. The park transforms into a floating lakeside experience, part art gallery, part market, part live music stage. Bring a paddleboard, float, or kayak and experience art right from the water.

Start with the TreeTrek Canopy Walk, a guided adventure through the old-growth forest featuring suspension bridges, elevated platforms, and around 2 km of hiking. Along the way, our guides share insights into Whistler’s unique ecology.
Ready to level up? Our zipline tours range from the Bear Tour, perfect for families and first-timers, to the Eagle Tour, with longer ziplines and more time in the air.
And then there’s the legend: the Sasquatch Tour. The longest, highest, and fastest zipline in Canada and the U.S. Guests hit speeds over 100 km/h on this MONSTER ride, an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience with bragging rights that never expire.

Every Sunday from May through October, the Whistler Farmers’ Market brings the Upper Village to life. Set right near the Blackcomb Gondola, it’s packed with local vendors offering handmade, homegrown, and locally crafted goods. From fresh produce and baked treats to art, jewellery, and unique souvenirs.
It’s the perfect place to support small businesses, meet local makers, and grab a one-of-a-kind Whistler keepsake (or a snack you definitely didn’t plan on buying but absolutely will).
Grab a coffee, wander the stalls, and soak up that laid-back Sunday village energy.

This summer, Crankworx returns from July 24 to August 2, the world’s largest mountain biking festival and a stop on the global tour. This event is often referred to as the Super Bowl of mountain biking.
The whole village comes alive with a festival vibe: pop-up tents, brand activations, giveaways, and endless energy as riders and fans take over the streets.
The highlight is Joyride, where the world’s best riders throw down massive flips, tricks, and huge air on a wild dirt jump course, right in front of the crowd. You can stand just metres away from the action as it unfolds. Even better, Ziptrek’s Eagle Tour zips right past the course, giving you a unique aerial view of the chaos below.
