What to Wear Ziplining in Spring

What to Wear Ziplining in Spring

calendar_today 30 April 2015

Spring weather is unpredictable in the mountains, it can be raining one minute and sunny the next  even snow can make an appearance in the early season. You can always check the forecast before your trip to Whistler but we still recommend packing layers so that you are prepared in case the weather doesn't go as predicted. One of your biggest packing priorities should be water proof/resistant jacket and shoes. While you will only be directly in the rain while on the zipline these items will ensure your comfort. When it comes to pants, any warm pants that you are appropriate for light hiking will do. Nearing the end of spring (or if you're from the Prairies) you may even be comfortable in shorts.

Shinrin-yoku in Whistler

calendar_today 1 March 2013

As winter melts away most of us start to spend more time outdoors, which turns out is even better for you than we thought. The Japanese have a popular practice of “forest bathing” (shinrin-yoku), teachers at Tokyo’s Nippon Medical School found in one study that women who spent 2-4 hours in the woods on 2 consecutive days had a 50% increase in the activity of cancer-fighting white blood cells. Another study showed being among plants produced lower concentrations of cortisol, lower heart rate and lower blood pressure. There are many similar studies but what it all comes down to is getting outside is good for you on several levels.
